Our History
The Story of Al Xadimia ATL Foundation
Al Xadimia ATL Foundation was established in Atlanta, Georgia, out of a sincere desire to preserve, promote, and transmit the timeless teachings of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké (Khadimou Rassoul) and to honor the legacy of Cheikh Ahmadou Kara Mbacké Noreyni through education, service, and community engagement.
The Foundation was founded by Iba Kara Mar, who recognized the growing need for an organization dedicated to strengthening faith, moral character, and community unity among present and future generations. Inspired by the principles of the Mouride tradition, the Foundation seeks to ensure that the teachings contained in the sacred Xassidas continue to guide individuals toward spiritual excellence, responsible citizenship, and service to humanity.
The motto of the Foundation, “Al Xadimia – Day Défar Réew” (“Serving Through Building the Nation”), reflects our conviction that true spirituality is demonstrated through knowledge, discipline, compassion, and meaningful action.
“Although rooted in the Mouride tradition, Al Xadimia ATL Foundation welcomes collaboration with all individuals and organizations who share our commitment to education, service, moral leadership, and community development.”

A Message from Our Founder
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).”
It is with immense gratitude to Allah that I welcome you to Al Xadimia ATL Foundation. This Foundation was not created simply to establish another organization. It was born from a vision, a responsibility, and a sincere commitment to preserve and transmit the noble teachings of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké (Khadimou Rassoul).
Living in the United States has shown us both the opportunities and the challenges faced by our communities. Many of our children and young adults are growing up far from the spiritual environment that shaped us. It became clear that we needed an institution that would preserve our religious heritage, strengthen our faith, educate future generations, and unite our community around the values of service, discipline, compassion, and excellence.
Our motto, “Al Xadimia – Day Défar Réew,” expresses our belief that genuine faith is demonstrated through service to others. We strive not only to teach the Xassidas but also to encourage every individual to become a positive force within their family, community, and nation.
I firmly believe that the teachings of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba are universal. They teach us to worship Allah with sincerity, pursue knowledge with humility, work with excellence, serve humanity with compassion, and remain steadfast in every circumstance.
“May Allah accept our efforts and guide us on the straight path. Ameen.”
— Iba Kara Mar, Founder & President, Al Xadimia ATL Foundation
